Thespians Take Over Thursday is a short break from books to instead focus on films, actors and the like.
I read the book I am Number Four by Pittacus Lore this month and really enjoyed it but I often found myself thinking that it seemed more like a book based on a movie. I picked up the book because the movie previews looked wonderful even though I was hesitant about the science fiction aspects. It definitely helped that Alex Pettyfer was on the new cover, yum. I saw the movie this week and loved it! There wasn't a dull moment. A lot was changed from the book or just not explained but it didn't make it any less enjoyable.
Dianna Agron was a great Sarah. I thought Sarah was a little too perfect in the book but she was adapted wonderfully and more realistically into the movie. I loathed Number Six in the book. She was horrible, couldn't stand her. After Bernie Koser, the beagle, I think she was my favorite in the movie. She was totally bad ass and all of the book's characteristics I hated were gone (know it all attitude, bossiness etc). I think the only place they dropped the ball on was with Henri. The actor was great but the way they chose to do a 'certain scene' (don't want to spoil you guys) fell flat compared to the book. Number Four... he's a great actor, he really is, but it's obvious that none of the masses of females cared about that, myself included.
