Wonder Woman Wednesday: #1

Wonder Woman Wednesday is for all those kick ass chicks. Each week an amazing lady will be feature whether they be fiction, author or simply too good to pass up.

This week's kick ass chick is Mercy Thompson of her self titled series by Patricia Briggs. She's graced us with her presence in five books so far (Moon Called, Blood Bound, Iron Kissed, Bone Crossed, & Silver Borne) and March 1st marks the release of book six, River Marked.

What makes Mercy stand out? To start off, she's a 'Walker' or a Native American shifter with the ability to become a coyote. It's tough being a coyote with a den of werewolves as next door neighbors but Mercy never lets that get to her, instead she does her best to provoke the alpha (just one of her many other talents). She works for one of the fae, has a Scooby-Doo lovin' vampire admirer and happens to see things that no one else can; definitely not a white picket fence life.

Why you'd want to befriend her: She's smart, witty, caring, lots of trouble and if that doesn't convince you, she's also a top notch mechanic. Mercy may not have super strength, the ability to heal or any other special talents but her cleverness hasn't failed to get her out of danger yet.
