Follow Friday: #2

Follow my Book Blog Friday is hosted by parajunkie. Original post can be found here along with lots of other links.

Q: How did you come up with your blog name?
A: I knew I wanted to have a book related word in the title; books, library, read, pages etc. I'm a fan of alliteration so I also wanted the title to use the same letter for both words. Being a fan of paranormal romance made pairing bitten and books a pretty obvious choice for me. I was shocked that it wasn't already taken on blogger, gmail, twitter etc.

Q: Do you read only one book at a time, or do you have several going at once?
A: Until this year I've always been a one at at time reader. Now I'm juggling library books with review copies as well as what I'm purchasing. I now read three books at a time on average. I'm finding that I enjoy the books more and, surprisingly enough, can remember them better this way. When I read one at a time, I would power through the whole thing in one sitting then the next day struggle to remember specifics. Now I'm reading chunks at a time over a longer period and am retaining so much more. I also love getting away from books that I'm struggling with this way.

Q: What was your favorite book you read last month?
A: Definitely This Side of the Grave by Jeaniene Frost. I seriously love this series.

  1. Hmmm... maybe I should try it your way. I wonder why your retention is better with having three books going at the same time...

Here's my Book Blogger Hop: 3/18-3/21 post!

  2. I love the name Bitten Books! Also, for your answer to the Bitten by Paranormal Romance Tag Along, I've had "This Side of the Grave" on my bedroom floor for a good month now, and I haven't gotten around to reading it, but seeing as how it's your favorite book, I may have to make some time for it! :]

Yeah, I would definitely think memory would be worse with multiple books because things might get mixed up but that hasn't happened yet. I read books that are pretty different though, usually a romance, a YA or middle grade book, then a fantasy.

  4. @Nora
    Thank you! :)
I loved it. Many people are saying that it felt like a filler book and didn't like it as much but I adored it. Any chance to read about Cat and Bones is a win for me.

  5. @Laurie
Thanks so stopping in. Enjoy your weekend as well!

  6. I so agree with your answer! It's much easier to read a lot than it is to have piles of books sitting there without even so much as dent put into them.

    Have a great weekend!

  7. @csilibrarian
I always feel so accomplished when I finish a bunch of books at once. I never get that feeling when I read just one book at a time even though I end up reading the same amount of books.

  8. Newest follower here via the Friday blog hop. I am a new contemporary romance writer and a reader of almost anything! Hope you stop by and check out my blog.

  9. @E Kelly
Thank you so much for stopping in! I'm following you too now :)

  10. Hi there,

New follower here. In answer to the question from Crazy-For-Books, my choice would be Janet Chapman's Highlander Series. Wanna know why? You can find out HERE.

  11. I also read more than one book at a time and they are always of different genres. My mood or the compelling nature of the book determines which one I pick up.

Also, I often have FirstReads and library books to finish. Sometimes there's a book I just can't wait to read so I will start that before I finish the others.

  12. @Liz
Hiya Liz, I'm following your blog now too. Looks great!

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment. I try to reply to each and every one as well as return the favor to fellow bloggers.
