In My Mailbox #7

"In My Mailbox" is a weekly event, hosted by The Story Siren that spotlights the books we've received.

Bought

Yay for buying books! I bought Visions of Magic (The Awakening #1) by Regan Hastings which I bought thanks to book bloggers. I bought Unholy Ghosts (Downside Ghosts #1) by Stacia Kane because it's one of my bookclub reads on goodreads and it looks awesome. Um I got another book thanks to you book bloggers. There was a tour a while ago for Darkness Dawns (Immortal Guardians #1) by Dianne Duvall. And I bought Some Girls Bite (Chicagoland Vampires #1) by Chloe Neill which everyone and their mother seems to have read but I haven't yet. I'm actually really unhappy that I purchased this one. When I checked borders.com to make sure the books on my list were in stock, I thought they'd made a mistake in pricing Some Girls Bite so highly (hardcover price highly). So I ended up paying $18 for it I believe. Unless Some Girls Bite changes my life, the rest will be libraried.

For Review

I've got a ton of these 'for review' ebooks to read. Lately I've been getting eyestrain (SO NOT GOOD) from reading on the computer so I've changed my review request policy to only accept print copies. I will finish all I've promised previously though! I received Wildefire by Karsten Knight and The Secret Spiral by Gillian Neimark from Simon & Schuster's Galley Grab. I'm totally chomping at the bit to read Wildefire but I've got a few that expire before it does that I need to read first. I received Solid (Solid #1) by Shelley Workinger from the author for review. The second in the series will be coming out soon. I also received 11:11 Countdown to 2012 by Verna Clay from the author for review. Luckily, I survive Rapture so I'll get a chance to read it! ;)

Won

I won Shift (Shade #2) by Jeri Smith-Ready from The Mod Podge Bookshelf, thanks a million! I've heard amazing things about this series and I actually just checked the first one out of the library last week.

  1. I've been having issues with reading galleys online too that I had to stop reading altogether for a day or so which was not fun. Be careful with your eyes! Congratulations on all the great books you won!

I loved Some Girls Bite by Chloe Neill. I've read the whole series. It's one of my absolute favorites. Hope you enjoy it.

Sooooo jealous that you have Wildefire by Karsten Knight. I'm dying to read it.

Hope you enjoy all of the books.

  4. @kaye (paper reader)
I'm so addicted to requesting books from netgalley, I'm really mad I can't read them. I've always preferred printed copies but I've never had a problem until now with reading online. So inconvenient.

I think my mailman hates me or at least thinks that I'm getting drugs or something like that. I'm out the door as soon as I see him pull up and he refuses to make eye contact with me or say anything to me.

I've heard amazing things about the series and I really love the covers. I can't believe how expensive the book was though. Completely ridiculous.
I've got another ARC that I've got to read before Wildefire and it's practically killing me to read it before Wildefire.
