Waiting on Wednesday #2

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Book: Blood Bound (Unbound #1) by Rachel Vincent
Expected Publication: August 23rd 2011 by Mira
Summary: By blood, by word, by magic...
Most can't touch the power. But Liv Warren is special – a paranormal tracker who follows the scent of blood.
Liv makes her own rules, and the most important one is trust no one.
But when her friend's daughter goes missing, Liv has no choice but to find the girl. Thanks to a childhood oath, Liv can't rest until the child is home safe. But that means trusting Cam Caballero, the former lover forbidden to her.
Bound by oath and lost in desire for a man she cannot have, Liv is racing to save the child from a dark criminal underworld where secrets, lies, trauma and danger lurk around every corner...every touch...every kiss.
And more blood will be spilled before it's over...

Why I'm Waiting On It: The summary sounds ridiculously awesome and it's a new Rachel Vincent book! What's not to love about it? Plus I love urban fantasys/paranormal romances with more unique 'species' and Liv sounds very intriguing. I'm really liking the purple background on the cover as well. I wish the weird design wasn't there though, I think the cover would look cleaner if it just faded to black.

  1. I really like Rachel's books, she's always so original! And I love the premise of this new series! I'm very excited about Blood Bound too! Great pick!;)

  2. I have always wanted to but I have still never read one of her books. This one really sounds good. :)

  3. @Deea
I completely agree. Rachel always amazes me with her original characters and plots. I actually read my first book of her's (Stray) because I'd heard that it was an interesting and unique take on shifters.

I can't recommend her books enough! I like her adult series, Shifters, best. I hope you end up loving her if you do give her a try :)

  4. Love the cover! And that synopsis... I'm interested! I have yet to read a Rachel Vincent book. T_T I put this on my TBR list! :)

  5. @Lucia (iLive, iLaugh, iLove Books)
You'll need to fix that and read a Vincent book soon! Her stories are really unique.
I'm really interested in how the cover for this one will look like in person, I think it will look even better.

  6. I keep on hearing so much about her lately that I think I'll have to give her stuff a try. Where do you recommend starting off?

Besides, BLOOD BOUND sounds interesting just from the summary. I'm intrigued! :)

  7. @kaye (paper reader)
I like her adult series, Shifters, best. Her YA series, Soul Screams, is good too though. I believe her only books that are in stores are part of those two series and neither are readable out of order. You can get the prequel to the YA series for free on Rachel's website:

  8. I LOVE Rachel Vincent!! Her Soul Screamers series is bomb!! I will have to pick this one up when it comes out!!

  9. Nice choice Kaity - I really like the premise behind this story. Should be fun to see what Vincent does with it.

I've only read Rogue from her Shifters series. I enjoyed it, but I got the impression that she was still feeling her way with some of the characters. But I believe that she really pulled it all together with the later books.

Gorgeous blog by the way. I love the layout - simple, but effective.

  10. I've only read Rogue from Rachel Vincent's Shifter series. I got the impression she was still finding her feet with the characters and world she had created. But there was definite promise in her writing. I also really like the sounds of the premise behind Blood Bound.

Awesome blog design by the way - simple, fun and slightly cheeky. :)

Thanks for leaving another comment. I'm so irritated that blogger's maintenance deleted all of them for this post. I had quite a few I hadn't replied to yet.
I probably would have picked Blood Bound as my WoW pick even if it wasn't written by an author I'm familiar with because of its premise. It's just so good and different from the usual stuff.

Thank you :) I've been playing with the header lately trying to get a book in there but it's just not cooperating.

  12. Thanks for some other informative website. Where else may
I get that type of info written in such a perfect means?
I have a challenge that I am just now working
on, and I have been on the glance out for such info.

    Here is my web-site:
