Waiting on Wednesday #8

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Book: Juliet Immortal by Stacey Jay
Expected Publication: August 9th 2011 by Delacorte Books for Young Readers
Summary: "These violent delights have violent ends And in their triumph die, like fire and powder,
Which as they kiss consume."
—Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare
The most tragic love story in history . . .
Juliet Capulet didn't take her own life. She was murdered by the person she trusted most, her new husband, Romeo Montague, a sacrifice made to ensure his own immortality. But what Romeo didn't anticipate was that Juliet would be granted eternity, as well, and would become an agent for the Ambassadors of Light. For 700 years, she's fought Romeo for the souls of true lovers, struggling to preserve romantic love and the lives of the innocent. Until the day she meets someone she's forbidden to love, and Romeo, oh Romeo, will do everything in his power to destroy that love.

Why I'm Waiting On It: Gorgeous cover, intriguing story... YA paranormal retelling. Yeah, it really does have it all.

Book: Heat Rises (Nikki Heat #3) by Richard Castle
Expected Publication: September 20th 2011 by Hyperion
Summary: The bizarre murder of a parish priest at a New York bondage club is just the tip of an iceberg that leads Nikki Heat to a dark conspiracy that reaches all the way to the highest level of the NYPD. But when she gets too close to the truth, Nikki finds herself disgraced, stripped of her badge, and out on her own as a target for killers with nobody she can trust. Except maybe the one man in her life who’s not a cop. Reporter Jameson Rook. In the midst of New York’s coldest winter in a hundred years, there’s one thing Nikki is determined to prove. Heat Rises.

Why I'm Waiting On It: I'm a huge dork for ABC's Castle, Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic. These books are just another reason for me to fangirl, I love how they get worked into the show.

Share what you're waiting on or links to what you're waiting on in the comments and I'll be sure to check it out! I included a YA and adult pick because I couldn't pick just one.

I haven't read anything by Stacey! :( I really want to though. I'm going on vacation soon so I've banned myself from buying books and the library doesn't have any of hers (of course, grr).

I love the cover too. I usually prefer vibrant colors but I think the muted colors work really well in this cover.

  18. I'm glad to see that I'm not the ONLY one crazily enthusiastic about Juliet Immortal's release. Though I will be disappointed if, like, they're vampires or something equally unoriginal. Thanks for stopping by the blog, and sorry for the delayed visit!
