Summer Reading Interview with Barmy_Bex from Becky's Barmy Book Blog

Welcome to the last interview of the Summer Reading Interview session. I hope you discovered lots of great reads and enjoy your summer!
If you didn't have a chance to fill out this interview yourself, no worries! You'll get another chance late August for Fall books.

Today we have Barmy_Bex from Becky's Barmy Book Blog visiting us.
A little bit about Barmy_Bex: I am 22 years old, I work in a library as an assistant will have been there 5 years this November, I run a blog and write YA fiction.
I am currently trying to get my first book published, I have sent my manuscript to some publishers and am waiting with my fingers crossed. I am also begginning the training to be a Librarian.
I love to read and get through about 1 book every 2 days on average. I mostly read YA fantasy, Dystopians, and chic lit.
Check out her blog or stalk her on twitter and facebook.

Me: What is one absolute, must read for you this summer?
Barmy_Bex: Forever by Maggie Stiefvater because I am absolutely addicted to this series, I have fallen in love with Sam and Grace and can't wait to find out what happens to them.
I am desperate to get my hands on this book, Stiefvater is such a descriptive, imaginative story teller, I can just be carried away by her books.

Me: What is one book you feel everyone else should be reading this summer?
Barmy_Bex: Divergent by Veronica Roth bacause it is a fresh new novel by a great new author that will take your breath away. I read it in one go and was blown away. Original, exciting and action packed, it's one not to be missed.

Me: There are tons of great looking books coming out this summer. What are some of the summer releases you're looking forward to?
Barmy_Bex: Forever by Maggie Stiefvater
Darke by Septimus Heap - I love this series, so addictive
Everlasting by Alyson Noel - great series that captivates my heart
Too many to name really, but they are the ones that spring to mind right now.

Me: You've got towels, sunscreen and everything else needed for the beach but naturally left some space for a few books. Which books will you be stuffing into your beach bag?
Barmy_Bex: ooh, hard one. I would pack mainly 'light reads' that I could dip in and out of, but also ones that can keep me hooked. So I would have Die for Me by Amy Plum as this book looks so amazing, I can't wait to get stuck in.
I would also take 'Twenty Boy Summer' by Sarah Ockler, as although I've already read it, it is such a breath-taking story and set on a beach that I could get lost in it all over again. I would also take the Princess Diaries series by Meg Cabot, I still haven't read them yet and think they would be fun reads to enjoy lazing in the sun.

Me: When you're trying to beat the heat, reading a huge book can be a bummer to have sticking to your skin. Any novella, short story or anthology recommendations?
Barmy_Bex: I don't read many short stories, but I did read a collection of short stories called 'The Eternal Kiss' which was 13 short stories, all Vampire themed that was really good.

Me: Almost nothing is better than taking a dip in the pool or ocean on a scorching hot day. Any books you're looking forward to or would recommend to turn sweat to shivers?
Barmy_Bex: The Last Survivors series by Susan Pfeffer, I read book 1 a while ago and it was chilling and really made me stop and think, I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series, but know it will make my blood run cold.

Me: The summer is usually when the biggest blockbusters are released in theaters. Are there any (past or present) book to film adaptations you're hoping to see?
Barmy_Bex: I just bought 'I Am Number Four' on DVD and cannot wait to watch it as I adored the book.
Obviously I am eagerly anticipating 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' part 2 it's going to be sooooo good!

Me: If there's anything you want to add...
Barmy_Bex: This summer I plan to travel as far and wide as possible, to High Schools and beaches, sky lines to ocean depths. Coldest Mountains to hottest deserts and everywhere in between. Although I won't be going anywhere physically exciting, sure i'll have the odd day out, I'm really looking forward to this summer and all the reading I will get done and the places it will take me to.

Thank you Barmy_Bex for answering the interview and sharing some great books with us! This concludes our Summer Reading Interviews, I hope you all had fun.
