"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
Book: Fox and Phoenix (Lóng City #1) by Beth Bernobich
Expected Publication: October 13th 2011 by Viking Juvenile
Summary: The king of Lóng City is dying. For Kai Zōu, the news means more than it does for most former street rats in the small mountain stronghold, because he and the king's daughter are close friends. Then the majestic ruler of the ghost dragons orders Kai to travel across the country to the Phoenix Empire, where the princess is learning statecraft. In a court filled with intrigue, Kai and his best friend Yún must work together to help the princess escape and return to Lóng City. A refreshing mixture of magic, wit, and action, Fox and Phoenix is an auspicious debut!
Why I'm Waiting On It: The cover reminds me so much of Spirited Away, so gorgeous. I've been in the mood lately for regular old fantasy and this sounds like a wonderful YA (or MG?) title.
Book: Angels of Darkness by Ilona Andrews, Nalini Singh, Meljean Brook & Sharon Shinn
Expected Publication: October 4th 2011 by Berkley Trade
Summary: Tales of alpha angels...from four alpha authors.
They soar through the night, unearthly creatures of legends and lore. Four masters of urban fantasy and paranormal romance explore the rapture of the heavens above, and the darkness below in four all-new stories of angels and guardians, and good and evil.
Why I'm Waiting On It: Ilona Andrews and Nalini Singh. End of explanation. I haven't read anything by the other two others that I can remember, I hope I enjoy their work as well.
Share what you're waiting on or links to what you're waiting on in the comments and I'll be sure to check it out! I included a YA and adult pick because I couldn't pick just one.
